Donald Martiny creates monumental gesture paintings that break the traditional rectangle frame. His majestic brushstrokes exist in the same space as the viewer, inviting the viewer into the painting. Martiny created two site-specific gesture paintings for One World Trade Center, a famous building in lower Manhattan. They energize the lobby, contributing to the iconic building’s hopeful legacy.
